Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of the study was to examine the teaching procedure of simultaneous prompting of mothers of children with developmental disabilities on tying their shoe laces. The purposes of the study were grouped as; (1) to find out whether the caregivers would be able to implement simultaneous prompting procedure correctly throughout the study and (2) to examine the effectiveness of mother-delivered home-based instruction using simultaneous prompting to children with developmental disabilities on teaching tying shoe laces. Moreover, maintenance data were collected 1, 2, and 4 weeks after the implementation was completed and generalization data were collected across trainers and materials.Participants of the study included three children with developmental disabilities as the learning participants, and their mothers as the teaching participants. All the sessions were conducted in a 1:1 version. A multiple probe design across participants was used. Dependent variable of the study was tying shoe laces and the independent variable was simultaneous prompting. Mothers were trained to use the simultaneous prompting procedure by the author. The study was consisted of baseline, training, probe, maintenance and generalization sessions.Results of the study revealed that mothers used the simultaneous prompting procedure reliably. The children acquired, maintained and generalized the target behavior.Key words: Simultaneous prompting, developmental disabilities, home-based instruction, tying shoe laces skills.
