Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between the level of family involvement and the perception of family quality of life of the mothers of children with intellectual disabilities in the preschool period. The research is a descriptive study in a correlational survey model. 40 mothers of children with intellectual disabilities attending special education kindergarten participated in the study. "Socio-Demographic Family Information Form", "Family Involvement Questionnaire" and "Beach Center Family Quality of Life Scale" were used. According to the findings, a positive and above the medium level significant relationship was found between family involvement level and family quality of life perception. The school-based involvement was at a medium level, and the home-based involvement, home-school based involvement, total family involvement were above the medium level. The education level of the mothers, working status, total monthly household income, gender and disability level of children did not create a significant difference in the family involvement. Family quality of life perception in family interaction and parenting were high, perceptions of emotional well-being, physical/material/financial well-being and disability-related support were moderate, and total family quality of life perception was above the medium level. The family quality of life differed according to the education level of the mothers, working status, total monthly household income, disability level of children, while it did not differ according to the gender of the children with disabilities. It is concluded that as the family involvement levels of mothers increase, family quality of life perceptions of mothers are positively affected.
