Shareholder's right to obtain information outside the general assembly in joint stock companies

In joint stock companies, the exercise of the shareholder's right to obtain information is reserved for the general assembly. The fact that the exercise of the right to request information is reserved for the general assembly has brought along various discussions. At the heart of these discussions is the question of whether the right to request information can be exercised outside the general assembly by asserting the request outside the general assembly. In our study, we seek to answer this question by analysing the process of using the right to request information and, in this context, we try to determine the equivalent of the use of the right to request information outside the general meeting in existing legal norms. In our study, in which we approach the right to information in terms of the process of exercise and the place of exercise, we analyze the extent to which the legal regulation on the right to information protects the interests of the shareholders within the scope of the right to information and search for a structure that is suitable for providing more effective protection.
