Research for the academic success of hotel keeping and tourism vocational high school students? about nutrition status

This research was made among the students of Hotel Keeping and Tourism Vocational High School which are within the boundary lines of Antalya.The purpose of this research was to evaluate the academic success of students about nutrition status.120 boys and 90 girls, at total 210 student were elected by chance.At the end of the research;1) %54.3 of the students are eating three times a day, %29 of the students are eating two times and %16.7 of the students are eating four times or more in a day.2) %29 of the students are leaving out of the meal in a day, %18.6 of the students are generally leaving out the meal in order to become thin.3) %57.1 of the students have breakfast. It is the reason of the students who donot have breakfast donot appetite (%42.9).4) %52.4 of the students have a lunch.Many of the students have their lunch in the school. They buy their food from the canteen.5) %73.8 of the students are eating in the middle of the meal. Sometimes,they eat before they sleep.6) The students like the group of vegetable and fruit. (%22.9). Legumes are never liked by the students (%28.9).7) Academic success of the students who consumed 3 meals in a day `X=3,93, academic success of the students who consumed 4meals `X=3,81 and academic success of the students who don?t consume 2 meals `X=3,95.8) Students who don?t consume food before bed or between the meal (`X=4,29) are more successful than those who consumed food (`X=2,97).9) Students who don?t leave out the meal (`X=3,76) are more successful than the other students leave out the meal (`X=2,79) or sometimes leave out the meal (`X=3,52). The statical difference,which is occured,is significant (p< 0,05).10) Students who have breakfast (`X=3,95) are more successful than those who don?t have a breakfast (`X=3,15) or sometimes have a breakfast (`X=3,49). The statical difference,which is occured,is significant (p< 0,05).
