Greenhouse pests and their natural enemies on grown vegetables in Antalya

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin GÖÇMEN July, 1999, 58 Pages In this study, species and population changes of the pests and their natural enemies on greenhouse grown tomato, pepper and eggplant at various locations of Antalya (Topçular, Uncalı, Kumluca and Alanya) were investigated. At the end of the study,as pests Bemisia tabaci Genn., Trialeurodes vaporariorum West. (Horn., Aleyrodidae), Liriomyza Jmidobrensis (Blanchard) Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) (Dip., Agromyzidae), Tetranychus sp. (Acari, Tetranychidae), Polyphagotarsonemus lotus (Banks) (Acari, Tarsonemidae), Aphis gosypii Glov., Myzus persicae Sulzer (Horn., Aphididae), Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) and Thrips tabaci Lindeman (Thy., Thripidae) were found. Neochrysocharis formosa (Westwoody, Diglyphus isaea (Walker), Hemiptarsenus varicornis (Girault), Diglyphus crassinerxris (Erdos), Chrysocharis gemma Walker (Hym.,Eulophidae), Encarsia sp., Eretmocerus sp. (Hym., Aphelinidae), Asaphes vulgaris (Walker) (Hym., Pteromalidae), Sryphophagus aphidivorus (Mayr) (Hym., Encyrtidae), Chrysoperla cornea Stephens (Neu., Chrysopidae), Orius minitus (L.), Orius niger (W.) (Het., Anthocoridae), Macrolophus caliginosus Wagner (Het., Miridae) and Braconidae (Hym.), Syrphidae (Dip.) and Cecidomyiidae (Dip.) species were found as natural enemies of the pests. The highest host population of pests and natural enemies were determined in greenhouses located in Uncalı When the plants were compared, the highest number of pest species and populations were determined on eggplant and the lowest number of pests species were determined on pepper.
