Determiniation of routes for alternative tourism within the natural and cultural landscapes values of Antalya-Finike district

The implementation of the sustainability principles for tourism, as one of the leading economic, cultural and social development tools, is one of the important debate issues on the agenda. However, solutions should be produced within the framework of the sustainability by protecting the resources while using landscapes that suitable for tourism. This process requires incorporating local identity, natural and cultural heritage and overall landscape diversity, maintaining stakeholder participation and cooperation, and contributing to the social and economic development of both at local and regional scales. This research is carried out in Finike district with high tourism potential. In order to create a sustainable tourism model in the district, where the tourism sector has not yet developed enough, alternatives for tourism potentials were investigated besides existing tourism products. The research was conducted in seven stages including field observations. Within methodological framework, the natural and cultural landscape features of the district, its current tourism uses in Finike together with seasonal features have been determined. In order to reveal the potentials and varieties of the natural and cultural environment so to ground alternatives tourism activities, points of source were defined. Site observation forms were initiated and on-site analyses were carried out together with by photographing at each points of source. As a result of analyses, 14 routes have been determined for alternative tourism that can be made by cycling, enduro and walking considering the seasonal characteristics of the points of source. Maps and elevation profiles of each route were also produced. In addition, further recommendation were implied for the effective use of alternative tourism routes and contribution for alternative tourism.
