The evaluation of the need of rehabilitation and life quality of whose old patients who use primary health care service in the city of Antalya

Ageing can be defined as chronic and the universal process which lead to decreasing of all functions and can be seen for all living beings. World?s ageing, people?s increasing expectation about life from birth are changing the demographic structure of the whole world and the population of old people is getting bigger. In our era?s reality the rapid increasing of the old people population?s life quality become very important. It is an insufficient approach to consider the life will be long in order to have a productive and successful life span which is supposed from birth ; the necessary workings (work required) should be done to to protect old people?s life quality with longing life. In a case study and our work to get the needs, it is dramatically observed that there are some decrease on the functional capacity and life quality together with becoming old. The most reduction part is seen in the role restriction [(RP) 24.28± 37.828] because of the phsical decreasing, the least (61.40±17.952) value is happened with mental health (MH) areas. Physical conculude scores (PCS) 33.61±11.427 and mental conclude scores (MCS) 42.34±9.893 are ( happened) like that. 1/3 of old people, 435 (30.8%) people, are indicated that their general health conditions are bad and about 60% of old people think that they are totally or partly dependent out of the house and again old people?s indoor labours like daily care are totally or partly dependent. When the indicator of life quality are deeply searched, the life quality is effected by person?s age, health and also social-economic situation, marital status, educational background and social-cultural effects. Some groups (women, older age people,people who have bad social-economy situations, bad level of education) are at the risk mostly. Because of this reason if it is possible old people should be taken geriyatric evalution when they apply to the first-step medical institutions. This geriyatric evaluation can be useful when it involves life quailty scale. So this scales can be used for personal practice and society?s signs. Medical employee (staff) can evaluate in which areas the old person?s life quality decrease and functional losts and for this can attempt forward. Old people mostly use primary health care service as entrance and make use of medical system. The medical centre as a friend of elderly people and doctor provide harmony for old people with their treatments and make it effecient longly. Well-educated personnel about medical and organized first-level medical service decrease the press on the system in a ageing country and will make the people much more satisfied and have a happier life
