Abstract (EN)
Canine ehrlichiosis is an important tick borne disease and the ticks which are vectors of this disease are prevalent in Antalya region. Ehrlichiosis is well documented in dogs and has high prevalance in Antalya. Ticks and high dog prevalance are also generates high risks for cats. The purpose of this study was to investigate seroprevalance of Ehrlichia canis in cats in Antalya. Total 222 serum sample were collected from cats randomly. Serum immune fluorescent antibody test was used to determine E. canis. It has been determined that, none of the cats were sero positive. It has been proposed that cats might be only the reservoir for E. canis. To understand the exact epidemiology of E. canis, more investigation is needed.
