Özet (EN)

The aim of this study was to make econometric analysis of single crop tomato production in glasshouse using grafted and non grafted seedling in centrum province of Antalya. In the scope of the research, economic analysis of tomato production enterprise, energy use efficiency in tomato production using grafted and non-grafted seedling, identification of factors affecting grafted and non grafted seedling preferences by growers and cost efficiency analysis in tomato production was analysed. The data used in the study were collected from 180 greenhouse farms choosed by using simple randomized sampling method in the centrum province of Antalya in 2008-2009 by using face to face survey method. Based on the economic analyse results of the research, net profit per hectare was 396.398 TL in tomato production using grafted seedlings, net profit per hectare in tomato production using non grafted seedlings were found as 655.178 TL. In order to determine energy use efficiency in tomato production using grafted and non-grafted seedling, energy output-input ratio, energy productivity and specific energy were calculated. The results of analyse showed that energy efficiency was found higher in production using non-grafted seedling. The Logit analyse was used to identify factors affecting seedling preferences of growers. The results showed that variables such as total greenhouse size, education level of the producer, average sales price of tomato and price of the seedling were found significant at significance level of 10%, 5%, 1% and 0.1%, respectively. Other variables included in the model such as age of grower, experience of growers and production quantity were found insignificant in the analysis. In the research stocastic frontier method was used to explain inefficiency reasons of greenhouse farms producing single crop tomato in glasshouse using grafted and nongrafted seedling. The research results indicate that average cost efficiency of a greenhouse farm growing tomato with grafted seedling was estimated as 1.000004. This result implies that growers are making producing at the rate of minimum cost. On the other hand, approximately a 97% variation in total production cost in greenhouse farms producing tomato using non-grafted seedling arise from the differences in cost efficiencies of producers.
