Abstract (EN)

Tomato production in the world is about 177 million tons. Turkey has a share in the world production of tomatoes 7.2%. This situation shows that there is potential for improvement in Turkey's tomatoes that have a say in the world in production and foreign trade. In 2016, with 11.1% share in Turkey Antalya 201 thousand in the tomato planting area has took the first place. In this study, one - to - one interviews were conducted with tomato producers in Serik and Aksu districts of Antalya region. 67 producers were interviewed with the proportional sampling method and the results were given in tapes. When the general status of tomato producers is considered, it is observed that at least two people are involved in the production in terms of the number of family members. It is observed that the producers are generally based on the yield per decare when choosing the tomato variety. It was observed that public institutions, producers' unions and cooperatives could not make adequate guidance in this case where the producers generally take into consideration the guidance of pesticide dealers in determining the fertilizers and drugs to be used in tomato production.
