Abstract (EN)

In this study, relationships between the Downy Mildew disease caused by Pseudoperonospora cubensis (Berk&Curtis) Rostovzev and nutritional status of single-season planted cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) grown in the greenhouses of Kumluca/Antalya region, is analyzed at 40 different greenhouses. Soil samples from soil depths of 0-20 cm and 20-40 cm and leave samples with has 3 different rating values were taken from the greenhouses. The contents of texture, CaCO3, organic matter, EC, pH, total N, available P, exchangeable K, Ca, Mg and extractable Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu were determined from the soil samples. N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu contents were also analyzed from the samples of leaf. The disease was rated on a scale where 0=No leaf lesion; 3=11-25% of leaf area with lesion of leaf area diseased ; 5= more than 50% of the leaf area with lesion area diseased. Majority of the soils of the green houses were loamy sand and loamy sandy clay. Slightly alkaline reaction and CaCO3 levels are the adverse effect on plant development and low in organic matter; however, the problem of salinity is not determined. Generally total N, content of exchangeable K were good for both depths (0?20 and 20?40 che m); content of exchangeable Ca and Mg were quite good enough identified. In the terms of micro elements, extractable Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu levels were determined in good conditions. N contents were adequate for all 3 disease ratings. Phosphorus levels at the ratings of 0, 3 and 5 were found the ratio of 60% which is under limit value. Meanwhile approximately 25% of K level at the rating of the scale of 0 and 3 were under limit value, this level was analyzed 5% in the scale of 5. Generally, the content of Ca and Mg at each of the three-disease rating values of the leaves is found within the boundary values. Fe contents of leaves at the different disease rating was examined. They were on the boundary limit value, while this ratio was 15.0% for scale 3 and 5 82.5% for scale 5 found. Nevertheless content of Zn was 92.5% under the limit value in the scale of 0, the content of Zn increases depending on the increasing level of disease. The content of Mn and Cu were seen sufficient and high level in both for three scale value. Consequently, single-season planted cucumber green houses in Kumluca region is pointed out by the high pH level of soil and CaCO3, low organic material which causes problems for plant nutrition. For each three value of scale the content of N, K, Ca, Mg, Mn and Cu were located in the boundary levels but, these contents were increased depending on the increasing level of disease. When the level of disease were decreased also the concentration of N and Fe were decreased as well.
