An application for the determination of financial techniques used by the firms in Antalya Industrial Zone

In this thesis, a research on firms of Antalya Industrial Zone is presented. The survey is designed as a result of a pilot research which was applied to companies of 13 sector by randomly selection. The survey which includes 24 questiona was applied to 153 companies. 58 company replied to questions. The questions were replied by firm owners, general managers, or financial managers. The major aim of the study is to determine the financial techniques which are used by firms in their investment project evaluations. In addition to that, other questions were asked to take some information about their targets, strategies, shareholders, and demographic characteristics. The study is the first one applied in Antalya on this area. In this study, the application of theory to the practical world is shown. As a result of this thesis, a parallellism is found with the results of developed countries. The major result of the study is; firms in Antalya Industrial Zone give more importance to financial techniques than non financial ones. Profitability Index and Internal Rate of Return techniques are the most important ones which are used by firms in this zone.
