Abstract (EN)
In this study, characteristics for radiation of ultra wideband (UWB) signals from an array of dipoles and reception of the transmitted pulse by a receiving dipole are investigated. Analysis is performed in the frequency domain. Mathematical formulations for radiated and received energy and correlation coefficient expressions are derived using analytical approach in the frequency domain. Computer programs based on these mathematical operations are created and computed results are presented. The approach is first applied to a single dipole considering that it is the basic element of the array and mathematically simple. Then, the behavior of an array of dipoles with equally spaced same length elements and different length elements are analyzed, respectively. Additionally, beam scanning for UWB arrays is investigated. Effects of changing various antenna parameters such as element spacing and the number of antenna elements are illustrated. Key Words: Antenna Array, Correlation Coefficient, Dipole Antenna, Energy, UWB
