Abstract (EN)

The Anti Dumping Code of GATT/WTO has been widely used by many countries for years. Turkey has also been using this international trade policy instrument since 1989. The purpose of this study is to investigate macroeconomic determinants of anti-dumping implementations in Turkey between 2003-2013. For this purpose, an econometric model is established and estimated in the paper. The model was estimated using negative binomial regression model. As a result of the study, domestic and foreign economic activity (Gross Domestic Product) and import growth rate are found to be statistically significant variables. The results suggest that macroeconomic variables affect anti-dumping decisions in Turkey. Hence, it can be thought that anti-dumping is utilized for protection from international trade instead of establishing fair trade.
