Preparation and characterization of antibacterial hybrid coats

Abstract (EN)

In this study, nano silver, boroxide and nano TiO2 doped silane binder-based hybrid coatings were applied to polycarbonate (PC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) surfaces. Silane-based hybrid coating surfaces are thermally and UV cured. Coated PC and PMMA surfaces were characterized by contact angle analysis, FTIR analysis, digital microscope and antibacterial activity. The undoped GLYMO coatings gave a contact angle of 95.89° for PMMA and 87.84° for PC. Characteristic peaks were obtained for GLYMO, Ag, Ti, Si and B in FTIR analyzes. In digital microscope images, the coating thickness was in the range of 3,275-16,116 μm. In its antibacterial test, it prevented bacterial growth for e. coli. For Staphylococcus aureus, Ag, Ti and B were followed by the most effective ones.
