Abstract (EN)

8SUMMARYClostridium difficile is an anaerobic spore forming bacteria which is the majorcause of pseadomembranous colitis (PMC), antibiotic associated diarrhea andfulminate colitis /toxic megacolon. When normal intestinal flora is altered generallydue to the overuse of antibiotics especially at intensive care unit we see these clinicalspectrum. In this study we examine whether or not C.difficile is a responsible agentof diarrhea after using antibiotics on either outpatient or inpatient basis, includingintensive care unit.During 2005, patients seen on outpatient clinics, admitted to wards orintensive care units, aging 18 to 80, their caring staff were included into the study. Inthis term, 91 patients (49.4% men/45 men) and 27 control group (77.8% men/21men) were studied. C.difficile, culture(Oxoid Clostridium difficile Agar Base), latexagglutination which is a colony springs up culture, searched by toxin A latex (Oxoid,UK) and toxin A+B ELISA(Seramun GmbH, Serazym C.difficile Toksin A+B) .In the 13 (14.2%) of samples culture, in the 4 (4.3%) of samples toxin Alatex, in the 13 (14.2%) of samples ELISA toxin A+B were found positive.As a result; at diarrhea situations which is a reason of intensive antibioticsusage C.difficile is important agent, so investigating it by culture or toxin A+BELISAKey Words: Diarrhea, Clostridium difficile, Toxin A Lateks, Toxin A+BELISA.PDF created with pdfFactory trial version www.pdffactory.com
