Thesauros architecture in the Greek geography of the ancient period: Origin, structure, meaning

In this study, the meaning, structure and function of thesauros architecture in ancient Greece in Olympia, Delos and Delphoi is explained in the light of the results of the excavations. They are generally structures in the templum in antis plan and in the form of a small temple. It was built between the 7th century BC and the 3rd century BC. The function of this building, dedicated to the sacred areas of Delphoi, Olympia and Delos, by the ancient Greek city-states, is to protect the devoted precious objects and to show the connection with these sacred sites politically. The reason for being built in sacred areas is that they are dedicated to God. The architectural details of these structures reflect the elements of the dedicated city state. Apart from these sacred areas, the structures which were not used as thesauros but were used to store votives were also mentioned.
