Abstract (EN)
In the world, where humanity lives throughout his life; the state, where the individual comes close to a surpassing entity when he encounters a hardship or when he has to make a decision, brings about the recognition of creatures with supernatural area. His diligence and effort to please them has made these beings sacred. By approaching the divine one, the man who wanted to know the future of himself or his state resorted to divination spells. The content of the magic texts, the material used, and their connection with the mythological stories of gods or goddesses have all been further helpful in understanding this situation. In this study, the concepts of divination and spell in Ancient Greek and Roman society and aforementioned region is stated; and the content of divination spell performed, its application and materials and its place in community, individual and the government have been mentioned. Throughout the study, the mythological aspects of the rituals performed by making use of classical and papyrological sources have been evaluated; over the relationship in this context, local cultures' syncretic structures, which are able to subsist with Hellenism through sacraments and materials, aforesaid in spell texts, have been investigated.
