Abstract (EN)

Gastronomy, as a multidisciplinary field, is a science that examines the relationship of food with chemistry, biology, history, sociology, archeology, and many other disciplines. The relationship between food and music is currently being studied scientifically under neurogastronomy studies and these studies continue to develop. The abilities of early humans, such as attributing meaning to sounds and linguistic skills, which are among the survival instincts, evolved to first produce meaningful but primitive melodies from sounds, and then to create musical works with complex harmony. The unity of food and music has existed in different forms in different geographies throughout the periods. Since the first humans, the activities in which food and music take place together have had a special value in human life. In ancient religions, music was included in the sacrificial rituals offered to please the gods or in feasts containing religious enthusiasm. Music, which was an inseparable part of cults in Antiquity, was also included in the great banquets used by state administrators as a means of reinforcing their power. While collecting data, the document analysis method, which is a qualitative research method, was usÇev. Descriptive analysis was used as the data analysis method. As a result of the descriptive analysis, it was seen that; While music consisted of making sounds with the leftovers of food in the unwritten period, it became an integral part of feasts and festivities in time, and today it has given birth to a concept such as 'dining music'. However, current research under the title of 'gastronomy and music' and shedding light on this relationship will make a great contribution to the literature of gastronomy, which is a multidisciplinary and new field.
