The effects of sophists on ancient Greek democracy

Every form of governance is the result of social events and intellectual bases of human groups. Democracy has also emerged as a result of certain social movements. The first form of government that the people have agreed to jointly formulate public affairs and state policies and come together to claim self-rule in classical terms is the Athens polis. This state, which is considered as the starting point when the history of democracy is considered, has reached democracy after experiencing most of the forms of government. The institutionalization of democracy in the Athens polis has serious implications for the group of thinkers called the Sophists. The Sophists, who were political educators, provided salaried education to young citizens who reached democratic rule but did not know how to operate this system. Sophist, who counsel Pericles, the most important figure in the Athens police democracy life, as well as Sophist, the most famous oligarchic administration in the thirties. These people, who are not a school but are referred to by the same name because of their similar characteristics, became a party to the Athens polis class struggle and played a role in the ideological struggle of the classes. In this study, the sophisticated generation was examined in detail in the study of the transformation of the Ancient Greek philosophy by transferring the political developments of the ancient Greek Athenian polis according to the historical chronology. Sophisticated pieces of sophisticated pieces from their works are analyzed by discourse analysis method and social and political messages of sophists are investigated in the context of class struggle.
