Investigation of relief sculpture and other elements in Anıtkabir in terms of plastic arts

In Turks, sculptural art is the least common in plastic arts. Although there have been movements led by many artists in the history of Turkish Art in sculpture since göktürkler, these movements have not been enough for the art of sculpture to settle, develop and establish a tradition. In the old days, nomadic and semi-nomadic living in the form of living and in later years, the art of sculpture, which was regarded as a sin under the influence of the Islamic religion, was only realized with the establishment of the School of industry-I Nefise in the sense of art through the pain of the West. Turkish sculpture, which has no long history as in the West, has been forced to watch and try examples in the West without forming an intellectual foundation. Work in this area increased, especially in the early years of the Republic, to enable development at the western level in sculpture. The invitation of the German sculptor Rudolf Belling to Turkey and his appointment to the Academy of Fine Arts made great progress on this path. The sculptures and reliefs that was the subject of my thesis were made by artists trained by Rudolf Belling. The subject of sculptures and reliefs in Anitkabir are the chapters of the war of Independence, the history of the Republic and the life of Atatürk. The fact that all the works were made by Turkish sculptors has been very important in determining the place of these sculptures in the history of Turkish sculpture. The Anıtkabir arts performed by Turkish artists has a great role in the progress of Turkish relief sculpture art and its acceptance by the public.
