Examination of the conditions of Machiavelism and narcissism of the coaches

In addition to the athletes' own performance in achieving success, the numerous contributions of the coaches are reflected in the athlete's performance. The psychological resilience levels of the coaches, which we should not ignore when the coach implements his programs in this journey of success, are also important. Machiavellianism and narcissism are also among these psychological states. The purpose of the research is to examine the Machiavellianism and narcissism states of coaches. For this purpose, a total of 320 coaches, including 101 women and 209 men, participated. The Machiavellianism scale and the narcissism personality inventory scale were used as data collection tools in the study. Our data was tested to see whether the data showed a normal distribution or not by skewness and kurtosis tests. The t test was used for variables consisting of two categories, and one-way analysis of variance ANOVA was used for three or more categorical variables. In addition, the Pearson correlation test was applied to determine the relationship between age and Machiavellianism and narcissism. As a result of the research, the demographic variables of the sub-dimensions in which the coaches' Machiavellianism level is high are marital status, sports branch, professional experience, number of siblings, economic situation, alcohol use status, and overall alcohol use status, the location variable was found to be high. The age variable was low. There was no significant difference in educational status. In narcissism, marital status, economic perception, educational status, professional experience, maternal attitude, high alcohol use, low age are the main factors. There is no significant difference in the gender variable. In this study conducted on coaches, machiavellianism dimensions came to the fore in cases of Machiavellianism and narcissism.
