Monumental ceramics

Monuments are beginning to show their presence with the emergence of the authority phenomenon. Generally political, religious or military powers used monuments to remind public a notion, an event or a person. Even the first examples of monuments are made of stone or wood; with the development in ceramic technology, ceramic monuments started to be seen. Through artistic approach that brought modernism, ceramics started to be accepted as an art form and ceramics more often broke free from two-dimension to three dimensional works of art. Today, many ceramic artist continues to contribute to ceramic art with the monumental works. This study has been made to examine the process of monumental ceramics, ceramic artist who works on this field and their art works.
