Özet (EN)

Aim: The aim of this study was compare amount of bone gain in patients who underwent apical resection surgery with MTA, Bioaggregad and gutta cautery. Materials and Methods: Teeth with apical lesions were evaluated in patients who were treated at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Osmangazi University Faculty of Dentistry between 01.01.2013 and 01.11.2020 and did not respond to conservative endodontic treatments. Retrospective data of patients older than 18 years of age who received endodontic treatment and underwent apical resection with MTA, bioaggregate and gut cautary methods were divided into groups and analyzed. Volume measurements were made over the difference between volumetric measurements in volumetric tomography before surgery and 6 months after the procedure. Area measurements were made on the radiographs before the surgery and 6 months after the procedure based on the horizontal and vertical points of defects. In the measurements, Dolphin Imaging 11.8 digital imaging and analysis program was used. The procedures and retrograde filling materials were obtained from the patient registration system and forms. Age, gender, lesion size, retrograde material used of the patients were recorded. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis non-parametric statistical analysis tests were applied in our study. Results: There was no significant difference between the patients who underwent Mineral Trioxide Aggregate, Bioaggregate and gutta cautery as a result of area and volumetric measurements in terms bone gain for the 6th month. The amount of bone gain was found to be higher in patients with large lesion sizes. The measure of root resection was found to be higher in patients who underwent procedure with MTA. Conclusion: In our study, no significant difference was found in terms of bone gain between gutta cautery, MTA and bioaggregate retrograde filling materials in the apical resection procedure.
