Effects of agroforestry applications on soil C and N accumulation

Abstract (EN)

Climate change, has been described as the most important danger affecting life and production factors since the beginning of the 20. century in the world. Increasing greenhouse and other industrial gases in the atmosphere are seem to be the main cause of this problem. Research has shown that carbon dioxide concentration rising in the atmosphere is the most accurate investment to connect plants to soil by reversing the effects of increased carbon dioxide emissions. In this context, agricultural forestry has become a system supported by the UN, the oldest agriculture system in the world, in which the agricultural production is made with the presence of trees in the land. This research was carried out in 2014-2015 during the one year production period in the agricultural forestry system formed by the organic agriculture method of the mulberry trees (Finger Mulberry, Gerdan Mulberry, White mulberry, Black mulberry) belonging to four different genotypes in the mulberry garden, under the research farm of Çukurova University, Horticulture department, with two strawberry cv. C and N accumulation potential and its effect on furit yield, and leaf characteristics. Considering the contribution of Mulberry genotypes to C and N accumulation at the end of the present study, Black Dut N; It has been determined that it contributes to C accumulation of Finger mulberry, Gerdan mulberry and White Mulberry. In addition, positive developments in soil physical and chemical properties were recorded. Mulberry fruit quality and yield characteristics were found to be higher in the growing period than in the previous cycle. However, the strawberry treatmentes did not show the expected production potential in terms of fruit yield.
