Abstract (EN)

Arachis hypogaea L., one of the important oilseed plants in the world, is known as ?yerfıstığı? in our country. Peanut oil is used in pharmaceutical technology as well as cosmetic industry and takes place in European Pharmacopeia. In this study, it was aimed consistency to pharmacopeia of four oils sold in the market sold as packaged and in open shape, one oil sold as cooking oil along with a fixed oil which was obtained by us through continuous extraction method from a peanut sample purchased in the market in Ankara. The physical tests such as density, appearance, viscosity, solubility in alcohol as well as the chemical tests including acid, saponification, peroxide, and ester indexes and TLC analysis were performed on the samples. Accordingly; it was found that the oil that we obtained and the cooking oil belonging to Zade company were consistent with all the quality control tests carried out, whereas the oils belonging to Mecitefendi and Otama companies did not meet pharmacopeia criteria. In the next stage, establishment of fatty acid composition of the oil samples used in the thesis studies is targeted.
