Investigation of the technology attitudes and levels of use of information technologies of the employees of the search rescue and response institutions

The aim of this study is to determine the level of technology attitudes and levels of use of information technologies of employees of Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and fire department and to examine them according to some variables. This is a cross-sectional study. The universe of the study consists of managers and employees working in AFAD and fire department institutions in Adana. The relational screening model was used from the scanning models. The questionnaire form developed by the researcher was applied to managers and employees working in AFAD and İtfaiye institutions in Adana province. In this study, "Demographic Information Form" was used to determine the demographic characteristics of the personnel, "Technology Attitude Scale" was used to evaluate their attitudes and "Level of Using Information Technologies" was used to determine the level of technology. The quantitative data obtained by the personal information form was evaluated by taking their frequency and percentages. The data obtained from the scales were analyzed by entering SPSS 16 program. The factor structure of the scales used was determined by Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and then tested with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Cronbach Alpha coefficients, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) (0.798) and Barlet-s (0.0001) test are included. The results of this study showed that these scales were valid and reliable. As a result of the research, it was observed that the employees were generally positive about the use of technology at response and in the other works within the institution and the level of technology attitudes were higher than the levels of use. In addition, the least available technologies are "Digital Map Applications Sistem", "Disaster Information System" and "Geographical Information Systems". Factor analysis was used for statistical analysis. p <0.05 was considered significant.
