Özet (EN)
The effects of the founding of the Arab League can be traced back to the nationalist movement that emerged in the nineteenth century. In the period between the 19th and 20th centuries, nationalization tendencies spread by nationalist movements in Western countries led to the definition of nations on an ethno linguistic basis. This situation also greatly affected the Ottoman Empire, and the demands and tendencies of non-nationalized societies to become a nation increased, causing the Ottoman Empire to be abolished. Later, Arab Nationalists came under the colonial rule of England and France at the end of World War I. After the First World War, the Arabs, who were under the mandate of Britain and France, changed the purpose of other nationalist movements and took a stand against their own mandate governments. The basis of the Arab League was formed with the Alexandria Protocol, in which representatives of seven countries and Palestinians participated. The Arab League is a political organization that was established on March 22, 1945 and has continued its activities with 22 members since then. The Arab League has faced many challenges and successive events after its establishment. From this context, this thesis, in which the balances of the Middle East and the Region are examined from the establishment of the Arab League to 2006, are detailed; The Arab Israeli Wars, the conflicts between Arab states, the American intervention in Iraq, and the establishment of the PLO have been examined in terms of the function of the Arab League. When the effect of the Arab League on the balance of the Middle East and the region is considered, it is seen that the special interests of the member states of the Union give results that will refute the idea of joint work, acting together and defending the Union. In addition, this Thesis covered the structural analysis of these problems arising from the structure of the Arab League. Keywords: Arab Nationalism, Middle East, Arab League, Alexandria Protocol, Other Movements.
