This study attempts to determine the existing reduplications in Arabic and to study them from various perspectives and to emphasize the role and importance of reduplications in language teaching.In the introduction part, previous and existing definitions for reduplications made by scholars until present are presented and definition of reduplication is defined at the end of the part.In the first part of the study, characteristics and usage of reduplications have been studied considering phonetic assimilation, semantics relationship and to become stereotypes.In the second part, reduplications have been classified in various ways with examples. Additionally, the reasons of scarcity of Arabic reduplications compared to Turkish reduplications have been investigated. Furthermore, reduplications are remarked in proverbs, idioms and Quran. In the last part, significance of reduplications on language teaching and translation of reduplications have been argued.Key words : Reduplication, phonetic assimilation, language teaching
