1912 Meclis-i Mebusan elections in Arab provinces

In contemporary societies elections holds a decent place. Obtaining of elective right and becoming a member of democratic society is a result of long time and bitter struggle. Foundation of Turkey's democracy is based on Ottoman Empire as well. In particular II. Constitutionalist Period is seen as a laboratory for Turkish Democracy. The elections that took place after proclamation of Constitutionalism has an important place in development of Turkish Democracy. After promulgation of II. Constitutionalist Period, three general election took place. There is no doubt that all of these elections are significant for History of Turkish Democracy. However elections that took place ın 1912 is vary from others in many directions. It went down in history as First Immediate elections or elections with stick. The Freedom and Accord Party first time in the 1911 Istanbul mid-term elections confront and win first victory over the Party of Union and Progress. This Victory of The Freedom and Accord Party enchafed the party of Union and Progress, for this reason The party of Union and Progress took decision of immediate election. In this study election struggles between Party of Union and Progress, and The Freedom and Entente Party been studied over 9 choosen province of Ottoman Empire State. In study, after beginning of the elections on both parties strives to find support over Arabic Province's voters' been tried to reveal. Despite of all opponents of Party of Union and Progress merging under the The Freedom and Accord Party's roof, Freedom and Accord Party defeated. From the determined Arabic Province's, deputies's and their information tried to be given as much as possible. We also study that either election of 1912 had an affect on Arabic Nationalism or not.
