Abstract (EN)

Knowing a foreign language makes it more meaningful and more complete when the culture of that country is also known. In order to know and become familiar with or to learn the culture of a country, this requires either going to that country and living there for some time or acquiring that knowledge through it?s literature materials. By learning the literature of a language, one can acquire substantial information regarding the culture as well. With this in mind, the use of literature in teaching the language skills of a foreign language along with the use of appropriate techniques and methods would contribute greatly to learning the foreign language as a whole. In this study, a selection of literature materials such as fables, stories, tales, poems, biographies, and jokes have been used in a practical way. In the teaching of Arabic as a foreign language, these very useful as well as enjoyable materials achieve effective learning and great advances in students who have a basic knowledge of the language. For this reason, the use of literature materials in the teaching of a foreign language is a necessity the benefits of which should not be overlooked.
