Institutionalization of research centers : The case of Sakarya University

Abstract (EN)
The University research centers are the most important instutions that they aim to contribute strenghthening the country?s scientific , technological , cultural , artistic infrastructure , using exist knowledge and experience in universities for research, development and implementation activities. The success and contribution of these activities are related to more policy of institution , more funding as a proportion of available funding , more intensive monitoring of the ability to meet program requirements , and much more elaborate and routinized administrative structures meanwhile they achieve their objectives. Unfortunately , most of university research centers aren?t operated systematical , efficently and active so they are unable to achieve outputs that are suitable for their objectives of establishing because of many factors that reviewed under the scope of work.In this study , Sakarya University Research Centers and SAU Technopolis were choosen as case study. Additionally , successful research centers of other state and private universities in country were examined in section of application. The needs of research centers about institutionalization were analyzed with technology roadmapping method . After then a technology roadmap that contain proposals about institutionalization of research centers was created.
