Fragility curves of a post-tensioned multi storey building

Özet (EN)

In this study, a multi-story post-tensioned construction building system's fragility curves has been investigated, which is called as "mild-press joint". The building that is handled in this study, has been constructed in 2005 in Van,Turkey. This building survived after Van earthquake in 23.10.2011, with immediate occupancy performance level. After that, this joint method has created a positive opinion about its earthquake performance. But it is clear that the result of just one earthquake can not be enough to understand the performance level of a building. The effect of an earthquake on a building is up to not only the characteristic of the building but also the characteristic of the earthquake. Because of that 7 different earthquake has been choosed, considering that all of them has the same site class with this building's site class. Those chosen 7 ground motion data has been used to describe nonlinear dynamic analysis on the structure model in Sap2000 program. In Sap2000 program, to describe nonlinear behavior fiber layout has been assigned to column frames and joint links has been assigned to beam frames. Kırçıl and Polat 2006 and Cornell and others 2003 has been considered to determine the probability of reaching yielding and collapse states on incremental dynamic analyses curves. After that, second method that based on performance level given by Turkish Seismic Design Code has been applied to get fragility curves.
