Abstract (EN)
Göle district of Ardahan province contains various ethnicities with a multi-cultural population structure. The transition periods which involve many cultural values, continue with all their vibrancy in Göle. Certain traditions, practices, and beliefs clustered around birth, marriage, and death, which we call transition periods, not only make people more content during the transition to new ones but also facilitate enable them to live more harmoniously with other members of the family and society. This study, titled "Transition Periods of Göle District of Ardahan Province," consists of six parts including introduction, preface, birth, circumcision, marriage, and death. The introduction part provides information about the History and Geographical Location of the Göle District of Ardahan Province and Transition Periods. The first part addresses birth, pre-birth, birth order, and post-birth customs. The second part addresses pre-circumcision, circumcision, and post-circumcision customs. The third part addresses pre-wedding, wedding, and post-wedding customs. The fourth part addresses death, pre-death, death order and post-death customs. In conclusion, this study addresses customs, beliefs and customs related to the transition periods in the Göle District of Ardahan Province stipulating that they still maintain their continuity today.
