Abstract (EN)

The Sources of road dusts, their elemental compositions and distributions are not the same all around the city. In this study, deposited dust samples were collected with the helps of sequential extraction technıque between april and october 2008 for once a month in different regions of selected sampling points of Adapazarı. During this process, extracted metals (Pb, Fe, Zn, Cr, Cu, Mn) in solution phase analyzed by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopic technique. Thus, the effects of enviromental pollution to city?s pollution levels in different regions were shown with the helps of dust samples found in enviroment.Consequently, the results showed that the content of heavy metals were observed higher in some places with heavy traffic, crossroad points and traffic lamps.Key Words: Sequential Extraction, AAS, Heavy Metals, Road Dust
