Research of support structures used in the exhibition of archaeological shipwrecks

This study focuses on research and examination of the support structures designed for the exhibition of archaeological shipwrecks in museums after conservation procedures. Within the scope of the study, the development of the support structures, their design and installation processes, material selection, the criteria to be considered in their designs, the effects of the conservation and reconstruction studies of the shipwrecks on support structures are presented through selected archaeological shipwrecks in various museums around the world. The properties of different types of support structures are evaluated and compared within the context of design principles and ideal criteria.
