Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTThis study, titled Phrygs in the Light of the Archaeological Data and Philological Documents, includes the general assessment of arguments about the Kingdom of Phrygia and Phrygians? origin.Before founding of Phrygian Kingdom, the general situation in 12th century B.C. of political history of Anatolia has been studied. It is aimed the various views concerning if the Phrygs are Thracians or Mushki or an Anatolian tribe.Founding of Phrygian Kingdom and its culture and social ? political construction have been told in general. Archaeological data and philological documents concerning Phrygians? origin have been investigated and studied.In conclusion of these evaluations, even if there are evidences of Thrac Immigrations in 12th century B.C., it has still been discussing concerning parallelism of Phryg-Bryg , Phryg-Mushki and if Phrygs had immigrated Anatolia by Aegean Immigrations.The view of not being the only one origin of Phryg people might be interpreted in the light of archaeological data and philological documents that the community included East, West and Anatolian cultures and had the name of ?Phryg? on account of the physical property of the region where they lived.
