Abstract (EN)

As in many disciplines, developed and innovated technology increases the importance of visualization and presentation and affects the quality and the form of techniques used in architecture and archaeology. The role of architects changes as the technology advances in the study of archelogical and historical sites. Architects now are able to supervise the excavations in correlation with the other disciplines in every stage. The data acquired from the archeologists and researches are transformed into lifelike computerized simulations and presented to the archeologists and visitors, hence both the archeologists can obtain excavation experience therefore reinforce their interpretation skills and the visitors can have the opportunity to experience the environment, the life conditions, the culture and the people existed at the time the site was built. Although this kind of practice is common worldwide, it is not as much in our country and these practices appear inferior in quality of visuality and presentation compared to the foreign ones. In the thesis, after the purpose, importance, scope and the method of the thesis are defined, in the first section the intersection and the common areas of archeological and architectural disciplines are explained. In the following section, virtual architectural design techniques are explained in detail and information about interactive multiple fields is given. Later, methods of archaeological settlements at numerical poly fields? modeling and visualization are explained with the examples that are applied worldwide. The method, techniques and processes are observed and analysed and tables and schemes are compared in order to show the quality of works. Analysed samples are chosen based on the intersection with the model project whose scope and research results are explained. Finally, in relation to the methods and techniques used in the observed models and the partnership with Yıldız Technical University and Muğla University the quality and significance of study is shown through the presentation of the technical, methodological and procedural data in regard to the Bodrum Pedasa Çiftlik Evi Archeological Site Project in which the settlement is created and presented in multiple fields.
