Abstract (EN)
The literary texts function as a temporal witness in terms of consisting of semantic system. The epics, folk stories, legends, literary jokes, and tales which are considered as based on the principle of oral literature take place among the folk literature products and transfer the implicit socio-cultural richness of the nation they are created in. In this context, our study aims at analysing the tales which has been formed aesthetically and preventing their ontological extinction. The archetypes of the Northeast Anatolian tales which comprise the basic material of the study are established and the implicit meaning of the texts were analysed through probing into the symbols and with an interdisciplinary approach, involving literature and psychology. The first part of the introduction in our study is about the definition of the tale and the studies made on the origin of it. Also, the studies made on the features of the genre were handled. The second part of the introduction covers the assertions on the basic terms and grounds of archetypal symbolism which form the theoretical basis of our study. The first chapter of our study covers the classification of the tales according to their episodes. The second chapter consists of the analysis of the tales in the light of the scientific grounds mentioned above. In this chapter, the tales were analysed psychoanalytically and they were classified on the basis of "Separation Step" which was formed by Joseph Campbell. The third chapter deals with the analysis and classification of the tales according to the "Initiation Step". Lastly, the fourth chapter of our study covers the journey of the heroes in the tales according to the "Return Step." Our study ends with the conclusion and biography parts. In the conclusion chapter, the philosophical and psychological richness of the Turkish culture were handled with general inferences through the established archetypes.
