Abstract (EN)

Nezim Berati is a poet with three divans in Turkish, Persian and Albanian. He lived in the ‎eighteenth century. We estimate the years he was in Istanbul for his madrasa education as 1157-‎‎1160 (1744-1748 AD). He must have spent the first years of his life and the years after his ‎madrasa education in Berat. Contrary to the widespread belief that Nezim died in a prison in ‎Istanbul based on the history stanza of his contemporary poet Fejzi, when the history stanza is ‎analyzed, it is understood that he died of plague (black death). This stanza dated 1173 AH (1759-‎‎60 AD), it is also recorded that Nezim was Albanian and from the village of Frakull. Therefore, ‎the poet's name was recorded in the literature as Nezim Frakulla. In later studies, the name of the ‎poet became widespread as Nezim Berati, based on the archival documents and the address of the ‎poet in his divans. Early Albanian literature researchers recognize the poet as Nezim Berati, ‎Nezim Frakulla, Ibrahim Nezimi, and Nezimi.‎ Another misinformation about the poet's life is that he was born between 1680-1685. The fact ‎that no researcher states the source on which they base this information, and that the date of birth ‎is stated so openly when even the information about the poet's family is so weak, raises ‎suspicion. As a result of our study, the years of the poet's madrasa education and the date of the ‎compilation of his Turkish Divan, as well as the statement that he "approached the age of forty" ‎in a poem written in a recent date, his birth should be dated after 1705. Although we did not learn ‎the name of the poet's mother, she died in 1735-36, his father Mukhtar's death is mentioned in ‎‎1747, and the death of his brother Hasan in 1748-49. Although the compilation of the divan ‎points to 1747, the last date in the poems written in the glosses is written for the accession of ‎Osman III, which points to 1754.‎ The first part of our study is devoted to information about Nezim Berati. Details about his ‎nomenclature, the information we have about his life and what we have deduced from his Turkish ‎Divan, his works and his Islamic inclination. The poet tells us that he was initiated into a murshid ‎after the editing of his Turkish Divan and hides the name of this person in Eyüp with various ‎signs.‎ The second part of our study is devoted to the analysis of the form and content of Nezim Berati's ‎Turkish Divan. There is a partial analysis under headings such as the analysis of verse forms, ‎tables on the number of couplets, the calculation of date couplets with ta'miya, a table of the ‎verses used by the poet, rhyme analysis, ayah and hadith quotations, the promenade culture in ‎Istanbul at that time and the places in the divan.‎ In the third and final part of the study, the procedure we used in the transcription of Nezim ‎Berati's Turkish Divan and the transcription of the divan are included. This section constitutes ‎the building block of our study. In the Manuscripts section of the National Library of Albania ‎with the number H.000015876 and the name Mecmû'a-i Eş'âr ve Dîvân, there is a Turkish Divan ‎between pages 1b-107a of the 153-page manuscript written in ta'lik calligraphy and registered ‎with the name of the poet Nezim Frakulla. This divan contains 30 qasida, 300 ghazals, 68 qita, 14 ‎nazim, 57 masnavi, 3 quatrain (murabba), 3 quintet (tahmis), 3 sixain (museddes), 1 terci-i bend. ‎The answers to the lugazes in the divan and the solution of the dates with ta'miya are presented ‎in the second part of our study under the section on the relevant verse form.‎
