Archaeological studies made in the village of mosul between 1840-1924 within the framework of states archive documents (İn the framework of states, archaeologists and artifacts)

The province of Mosul, which has an important place with its geographical location, has a wide archaeological heritage as it is home to many civilizations. When we look at the historical process, many different states in and around Mosul have both engaged in commercial activities and searched for ancient cities from past civilizations that are mentioned in holy books. States such as England, France, America and Germany in particular made excavations in some ancient settlements here. In this thesis, the excavations carried out in the Kale-i Şarkat, Koyuncuk, Horsabad and its environs in the province of Mosul between 1840-1924 in Babylon and Tello are discussed. Archaeologists, supported by different states, museums and institutions affiliated with the states, have excavated not only in one region but also in several different regions. It is predicted that the works found as a result of the excavations will shed light on the existence of Islamic art in the region. In this study, the data on the states that carried out the excavations and the archaeologists who worked in the excavations were examined within the scope of archival documents. The effect of the Museum-i Hümâyun on the excavations in question was emphasized. The transportation of the artifacts found in the excavations and the employees of the Müzei Hümâyun who took part in the excavations were mentioned.
