Abstract (EN)
The period of Suleiman the Magnificent is regarded as the "golden age" of the Ottoman empire in every respect. Rüstem Pasha served as the grand vizier for almost half of the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, and became one of the most important and influential statesmen of the period. In addition to being a successful statesman, Rüstem Pasha had hundreds of architectural structures built and contributed to the development of many cities. Although historical sources show that the works built by Rüstem Pasha are many times more than those that have survived, her architectural activities have not been adequately studied. For this reason, it is important to fully determine the zoning activities of Rüstem Pasha by subjecting them to a detailed examination, in terms of determining the value of him and the works he had built in the history of Ottoman Architecture. In this research, the architectural works brought into being by Rüstem Pasha were tried to be determined through the Ottoman period archive sources and the historical processes of the architectural works until today were examined. The changes that the architectural structures have undergone over time and their effects on the structures have been tried to be determined. The factors that caused the disappearance of the works, which could not reach today, with their plan and architectural features were investigated. In this way, the contribution of the building activities carried out by Rüstem Pasha on the development and development of Ottoman cities and their place in Ottoman architecture were evaluated.
