Abstract (EN)
In this study, chemical fraction of boron and the relationships between these fractions and physico-chemical properties of soils were evaluated. Several physical and chemical characteristics and sequential boron extractions of soil samples taken from 19different locations (0-30 cm depth) in Arsuz plain were determined. The boron fractions were determined with different extraction solutions by sequential boron extraction methods as readily soluble boron, specifically adsorbed boron, oxides bound boron, organically bound boron, and residual boron In addition, and the relationships between soil boron fractions and soil properties are examined by linear correlation analysis. Soils were classified as unsalted class. Soils have medium and high basic reactions. The texture of a significant part of the soil is clay and it is in the class of fine textured soils. In this study, chemical fractions of B were determined which easily soluble boron (KÇ-B), specifically adsorbed boron (SPA-B), oxide bound boron (OK-B), organically bound boron (OB-B) and of residual boron (RE-B). They constituted 3.72, 8.14, 1.33, 4.65 and 82.34% of total boron (TO-B), respectively. A statistically significant 1% correlation was found between the EC values of the soils and the specific adsorbed boron (SAB-B) values. Similarly, a statistically significant relationship was determined between total boron content (TO-B) and residual boron (RE-B) content. Again, significant negative relations were determined between the sand content of the soils and silt and clay contents at 0.01 level, and positive relations at the level of 0.05 between lime content and silt content.
