Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to present a meta-synthesis of augmented reality (AR) studies in mathematics education between 2010-2021. Among the studies reached by scanning the keywords "augmented reality", "augmented reality and education", "augmented reality and mathematics education" in the databases, 24 studies with certain criteria were included in the meta-synthesis. The data were prepared for the data analysis process to be examined in accordance with the nature of meta-synthesis and were analyzed by content analysis. The codes and themes obtained as a result of the analysis are presented in the findings section with tables. The descriptive features, research design, data collection tools, selected mathematical topics, data analysis and validity-reliability, results and suggestions of the studies included in the meta-synthesis were examined separately. A synthesis study was conducted by comparing the similar and different aspects of the studies and considering them from a holistic perspective. It has been observed that AR applications in mathematics education have been used more widely over the years. Studies on AR in mathematics education are generally aimed at improving spatial skills. In the studies, it has been seen that AR frequently benefits from the visualization and concretization features. With this meta-synthesis study, suggestions are presented to researchers who will work on this subject. Keywords: Augmented reality, mathematics education, meta-synthesis.
