Abstract (EN)

Meniscus injuries are seen with a high number of days due to today's busy work pace and increasing sport activities. Despite the increasing frequency of meniscus injuries in the treatment of menstrual damage due to the inherent blood supply and biological healing ability of the existing meniscus damage rates are very small. In daily practice, meniscus damage is due to injury time, patient's condition and localization of injury; repair, menisectomy, synthetic implants and allografts. In this study, we used a synthetic polyurethane-induced meniscus implant which is a new alternative in the treatment of patients with partial meniscus injury that cannot be repaired. We evaluated the functional recovery status by comparing the balance and muscle strength analysis of the patients with the lower limbs. In our study, 10 patients with a mean age of 32.2 (20-45) who underwent a synthetic polyurethane induced meniscus implant were included in the left knee of the right 3 of the 7 patients. All of the patients had undergone surgery with lower extremity muscle strengths. However, there was no significant difference in balance tests compared to the intact extremities. As a result, synthetic polyurethane-induced biodegradable meniscus implants are applied in a group of patients with partial meniscus damage, young and middle age group with no BMI <35, with no osteochondral damage over the ICRS stage 3, with no deformity in the lower extremity and with intact peripheral meniscus tissue. It is a medicinal product that has received successful results.
