Abstract (EN)
Asaf Muammer (Kütayis), who lived between 1878-1964, took his place among the Ottoman intellectuals with his literary, political and intellectual identity. The author, who had a very active publishing life during the Constitutional Monarchy period, continued his publishing activities in many magazines, especially Servet-i Fünun, and contributed to the publishing activities of the period by publishing magazines himself. The artist was closely interested in history, politics and fine arts as well as literature and wrote works in these fields or indirectly reflected this interest in his works. Therefore, it is possible to see him not only in his literary identity but also as a historian, politician, painter, sailor and even fisherman. Asaf Muammer, who was a versatile writer, did not neglect to reflect his intellectual aspect in his literary works. In this study, Ferda-yı Hayal, published in 1902 in Mecmua-yı Edebiye, Kötürüm, published in Mahâsin between 1908-1909, and Buhran İçinde, published in Servet-i Fünun between 1911-1912, were transcribed. In this way, by witnessing the content of the author's novels closely, both the period and the author's knowledge, experience and interests were identified. In addition, these novels were also analysed in terms of structure, theme and narration. These transcribed novels of the artist have contributed to a closer look at the cultural and political structure of the period as well as the language and literary understanding of the period. This study on the novels of the author, about whom not many studies have been carried out, will shed light on the history of literature and those who will work in this direction by providing an opportunity to reach an opinion about Asaf Muammer's novelism and his place in Turkish literature.
