vDETERMINING OF PARAMETERS OF THE INDUCTION MOTOR ANDINDUCTION GENERATOR W TH INDIRECT METHOD(Master Of Science Thesis)Vedat BOZKURTGAZ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYOctober 2006ABSTRACTInduction motors are the most preferable electric motors in industrial area andgenerally on actuators. The mainly reasons for selection of these motors are toeasy production in multi phase, due to progress of power electronics, their speedcan be controlled by means of the inverters and their robust construction. Theinduction motors produced and supplied to industry in our country. The motorswhich is produced should be certificated both of the national and internationalstandards. The mainly international standards are TS 3067, IEC 34-1, IEC 34-2,IEEE Standard 112-1996, VDE 0530. Both standards, IEC 34-2 (Indirectmethod) and IEEE 112 (direct method) have been used for tests in the factories. This method is capable of either determining motor parameters or to nameplateof these motors. The test equipment for indirect method is lower cost than directmethod. In this study IEC34-2 and IEEE112 which are the most preferredinternational standards, were compared with each other and applied to a 160-4-160 type 6,6/4,4 kW induction motor. Motor operated as an induction generator, and then obtained values compared with the motor.Science Code : 703.1.033Keywords : Induction motor, Indirect method, induction generator,Number of Page : 97Thesis Advisor : Asist.
