Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Title: Determınatıon of sleep and depressıon anxıety stress levels of women before vaccınatıon and embryo transfer Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the sleep, depression, anxiety and stress levels of women before insemination and embryo transfer. Methods: The research was conducted at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Infertility and Reproductive Health Center between 01.01.2023 and 30.08.2023. The researcher conducted the research with women who would undergo insemination and embryo transfer procedures and who did not have a diagnosed sleep disorder and agreed to participate in the study. Data were collected through face-to-face interviews by obtaining verbal and written permission from those included in the study. Data were collected using the Socio-Demographic Characteristics Determination Form, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale, Pittsburg Sleep Quality Scale and analyzed using IBM SPSS V23. Findings: The distribution of participants' depression score categories according to groups showed a statistically significant difference (p=0.031). While the rate of women who will undergo insemination in the mild depression category was 5.9%, this value was found to be 17.6% in women who will undergo embryo transfer. The relationship between the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale and Pittsburg Sleep Quality Scale scores of the participants in both groups was found to be positive (p<0.001).As the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale score increases, the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Scale score also increases. Conclusion: Depression, anxiety, stress levels and sleep quality are thought to be negatively affected in women receiving infertility treatment. However, the fact that depression, anxiety, stress levels and sleep quality differ according to the steps of infertility treatment may be overlooked. The higher mild depression score in the embryo transfer procedure, which is generally considered in the later stages of treatment, shows us that the level of psychological distress increases as the duration of treatment is prolonged. Therefore, when evaluating women, it is important for health professionals to approach them according to the stages of treatment they are in. Keywords: Infertility, depression, anxiety, stress, sleep
