Values education in Asr'i Saâdet

Political and economic developments in the 21st century have caused to rapid transformation particulary in individual's and generally in society's life; this rapid change makes individual's adaptation to social life difficult therefore causes value depression. To seek for a solution to this problem, value education has become the focus of interest all over the World, however the obstacles that faced during the practices of the theoretical studies have required the re-examining the main resources of the religion -the nass- with in that frame. In addition to the moral principles of Islam as a source of values which are revealed to build a virtuous society, the educational strategies of Prophet of Islam in the process of adopting these values to the society constitute the main course of this study. In this study where documentation method was used by reviewing the literature, firstly, value term was emphasised, then background stage of the values education in Asr-ı Saâdet was discussed. In the last part, basic moral values which led Hz. Muhammed's education system and the methods he used in the process of making society adopt these values were presented on the basis of primary resources. The religion of Islam enlightens the present day with the principles that composed in the Prophet Muhammed's illustrative personality fourteen centuries ago, and reveals unique principles that address to ages and centuries in adopting values by the society.
