Abstract (EN)

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the serum kisspeptin concentration and it's effects on LH, FSH, and free testosterone hormones and indices of insulin resistance, the insulin secretion in PCOS women in comparison to the control group. The results showed that the mean age of the patients group A2 mean age was recorded 21.10 years as compared with 21.14 years for control group, while patients for group B2 recorded 29.13 years as compared with 29.40 years for control group also patients in group C2 recorded 39.53 years as compared with 39.20 years for control group. The mean age of patients groups recorded 29.92 years as compared with 29.91 years for healthy women groups. The results revealed markedly elevation in the kisspeptin levels in studied patient groups as compered with healthy control group.Kiss1 in the groups studied varied in their values of kisspeptin levels which revealed that the groups (A2, B2, and C2) significantly increased the mean of kisspeptin level which recorded 74.19, 71.47, and 60.60 pg/mL as compared with 36.22, 30.0, and 36.38 pg/mL for control group.Affecting on the hormonal and metaboilic imbalances of the PCOS women. The results showed the women with PCOS significantly elevated the mean of LH level as compared with healthy women in control groups. Women with PCOS at the age between 16-25 (A2) years significantly increased in the other groups which recorded 14.0 mIU/mL as compared with 11.46 and 10.84 mIU/mL for groups C2 and B2 respectively. The mean of LH level of patients groups recorded 12.1 mIU/ml as compared with 9.86 mIU/ml for control groups. Results revealed that all the patient's groups (A2, B2, and C2) significantly decreased the mean of FSH levels which recorded 5.54, 5.87, and 6.79 mIU/mL as compared with control groups (A1, B1, and C1) which recorded 7.04, 7.34, and 8.77 mIU/mL respectively. The mean of FSH level of groups studied recorded 7.71 mIU/mL as compared with 6.06 mIU/mL for healthy women. Data showed that there is a significant difference in the mean of free testosterone levels between patients and control groups. Patients group recorded 128.80 pg/mL as compared with 37.81 pg/mL for control group. Patients groups (A2, B2, and C2) significantly increased the level of free testosterone which recorded 139.44, 121.23, and 125.74 pg/mL as compared with control groups which recorded 52.27, 35.07, and 26.10 pg/mL respectively, also the results pointed that the upper value of free testosterone was recorded at the group A2 for women at the age between 16-25 years which recorded 139.44 pg/mL. Data of the metaboilic parameters showed markedly metabolic imbalance in the patients group. Patients group recorded 41.30 μIU/mL as compared with 6.89 μIU/mL of insulin. All the patients groups (A2, B2, and C2) significantly elevated the level of insulin which recorded 41.41, 42.07, and 40.42 μIU/mL as compared with 8.45, 6.04, and 6.20 for control group. The results showed that there is no significant difference in mean of glucose level between the groups studied unless group C2 of women with age between 36-45 years which significantly elevated the value of glucose level to 70.13 mg/dL, while the group A2 recorded lower level of glucose level which recorded 59.44 mg/dL. Data revealed that there is a significant difference in mean of HOMA-IR index between the groups studied, all the patients groups (A2 , B2, and C2) significantly elevated the value of HOMA-IR which recorded 6.08, 6.47, and 6.95 as compared with 1.20, 0.90, and 0.91 for control groups (non- PCOS women). The results revealed that the groups studied significantly increased the values of BMI of the patient's groups (A2, B2, and C2) as compared with control groups (A1, B1, and C1) which recorded 24.11, 30.50, and 30.84 kg/m² while control groups recorded 21.85, 21.74, and 23.97 kg/m² respectively. The mean BMI of pateints groups recorded 28.48 kg/m² as compared with 21.52 kg/m² for control groups. The results showed that all the means of total cholesterol of groups studied were in normal range with significant differences, group C2 significantly superior in value of total cholesterol which recorded 183.42 mg/dL in patients with PCOS as compared with 130.18 mg / dL for control group. The results showed that the groups studied varied in their values of triglycerides although most of the values were within the normal values for total glycerides Except for the values of group C2 for women with polycystic ovary disease in the age of 36-45 year, which recorded 120.19 mg/dL while women without polycystic ovary syndrome recorded 94.42 mg/dL respectively. Data revealed that patients groups (A2, B2, and C2) significantly increased the mean of LDL level which recorded 111.22, 111.74, and 131.80 mg/dL as compared with 78.01, 65.79, and 62.39 mg/dL for control groups respectively. The results showed that patients with PCOS significantly decreased the mean of HDL level which recorded 32.37, 29.86, and 31.53 mg/dL as compared with 60.52, 52.20, and 48.90 mg/dL respectively. The findings revealed that there is a slightly significant in mean of VLDL values between groups studied, group C2 in the age 36-45 years significantly increased the value of VLDL to 24.03 mg/dL as compared with 18.88 mg/dL for control group in the age 36-45 years. Kisspeptin showed apositive correlation with BMI, LH, FT, INS , HOMO-IR ,cholestrol and LDL and negative correlation with FSH and HDL with no significant correlation with age, glucose, triglyceride and VLDL.
